Her little ones

Her little ones

They were filled with laughter
They were filled with such joy
And in her youth
She wanted to be left alone
She wanted to be free
One day they grew up and left home

Now when the wind blows
She longs to hear children play
And when the sun goes down
Somehow she looks for them
To come in and prepare for bed

Aged and gray she wishes
So much for yesterday
The little ones she rushed away
