Congratulations, Mr President! You did it again!

November 6, 2012--In the beginning I was fearful President Barack Obama would lose his bid for re-election. The media and mouthy TV robots cited polls incessantly. Republicans believed each other's predictions, and the skewed polls that said Mitt Romney would win the presidency hands down. His victory would be a slam dunk! The prediction was like handwriting on the wall! Republicans and the Tea Party crowd were told by media talking heads that Whites would outvote African Americans, the reason Barack Obama would not win re-election.

With the economy in such a colossal mess, high unemployment, America's continuing involvement in Iraq, balancing the budget, President Obama insisting that all Americans have access to affordable health care.  Continuing to campaign on these promise with or without the help of Republicans, President Obama was backed in a corner.

Republicans had vowed to make Obama a one-term president. Their every action headed down the road of dismantlement. They viewed Barack Obama's presidency as a novelty. They mocked him. Daily, 24/7. The media, Republicans and pundits said he had four years on the national stage, and for that, he should be grateful, as should African Americans voters.

Talking heads on television and in the print media stated unequivocally that Black folks would not go to the polls like they did in 2008. They said Blacks are disappointed that President Obama ignored them after he was elected. None of these expert-driven talkers went into African American neighborhoods to record their opinions about President Obama and his "failure" to address their problems. White pundits and the media assumed that the handful of African American commentators on Fox represented African American voters.

When precincts closed and results were being broadcast it looked very good for candidate Mitt Romney. My heart started to sink. I was not happy with the prospect of living under a Romney presidency, but I would have no choice. If he won, I would accept it and move on. However, a slow traveling headache was gaining steam inside my head.

TV word vocalists with their fancy touch tone gadgets and charts were all saying President Obama could start packing his suitcases, and head on back to Chicago. Ann Romney could start making decoration plans. The suspense was thicker than a pair of bifocal eyeglasses.

Later in the evening the numbers and states began to change in favor of the President. At the end of a nail-biting evening, it was finally announced that President Obama had won his re-election bid.  Big time! There was no doubt who had won. No questionable tie. No need for a recount. Mitt Romney had been roundly defeated by a sitting president. The goal to suppress and impede the spirit of African American voters failed miserably. Republicans complained and searched for someone to blame other than themselves. As they complained and whined the world celebrated with President Barack Obama.

One term Commander-in-Chief? Hardly! Thank you, Republicans.

Bush's former brain, Karl Rove, had a complete meltdown on Fox. He demanded that they recount the Ohio numbers, a state he swore Romney would win hands down. It was not supposed to happen. That's not what political experts, the media and polls predicted. Romney also believed he had Ohio. Rove's meltdown and his hand-held chalk board was a comedic classic! Despite not demanding a recount Romney still could not believe that Ohio went to the President.

Fox's Chris Wallace said to the doubters that refused to believe President Obama was the victor: "Well I have great respect for our decision desk, and I can see that they're very happy in Chicago, but I have to tell you that the Romney camp has real doubts by the call that has been made by us and by other networks. They do not believe that Ohio is in the Obama camp. I just got an email from a top Romney person. I asked, 'Do you agree with our call?' He said 'Not really. It's less than 20 percent of the vote still out in GOP areas.'"

Oh, well. Defeat is a bitter pill to swallow.

Below is Mitt Romney's concession speech (bottom of page) and the President's re-election speech made in front of a diverse crowd of thousands.

First Lady Michelle Obama and President Obama embrace each other after learning that he had been re-elected. The First Family are very open with their love for each other and their daughters.

President Obama won Florida, giving him a win of 332 electoral votes to Romeny's 206. The President also won the popular vote. Only 270 electoral votes were needed to win the presidency. President Obama won eight of nine swing states, all which were predicted to go to Romney.

Senior citizens yell at cardboard cutout of President Obama at Romney/Ryan rally

On October 1, 2012 a rally for presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan was held at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver, Colorado. Thousands of people attended, their brains loaded with silliness. The majority were senior citizens, most likely receiving Social Security and Medicare. Some are probably getting food stamps and other government help. I was surprised that no one had a poster informing big government to "Keep Your Hands Off My Social Security!"

In a news video a reporter in ProgressNow, folks were seen walking back and forth, holding a life size cardboard cutout of President Obama. People passing by look at it and make belittling comments. One woman can be heard saying the President makes her want to puke. A pot bellied senior proudly holds a poster that said he is one of the "47 percent." Little does he know that he is one of the freeloading, welfare getting, food stamps collecting, I don't want to work bums that Romney got caught talking about on a secretly recorded video at a high-end fundraiser. Romney, the candidate they went to see, is not concerned about them. Yet, this man is proud to display his ignorance on his big yellow poster.

Another senior female stuck her tongue out at the ProgressNow reporter videoing them. Someone told the cardboard cutout to "Go back to Kenya!" Someone else yelled at the reporter, "Is that your Muslim communist buddy?" Yet, another deranged senior yelled, "Strangle him!" It is not clear if he was talking about the reporter or the Obama cutout.

Joanne Schwartz, executive director of ProgressNow told KDVR in an email,  “It’s clear that not all, but many within Romney’s base of support dislike the President for irrational and often hateful reasons. Comments like ‘go back to Kenya,’ and asserting Obama is ‘black and used up’ reflect a much uglier prejudice than most Americans would not identify with. Everyone we videotaped yesterday has a right to free expression. But others have the right to publicly reject intolerance. In a free society, we have an obligation to call this out.”

On video the behavior of these senior citizens borders on childish nonsense.  That's what hatred and racism does to a person. It drives them batshit crazy.  These are the same kinds  xenophobic White people that belong to the Tea Party.  Strutting around in various city parks and streets, wearing ridiculous homemade costumes, holding equally ridiculous homemade posters, these lost souls steadfastly broadcast that they are the "true American patriots."

The haters in Colorado are akin to other bigots who go into a tizzy,  proclaiming, "We want our country back!" The hype began after Barack Obama was elected president. If America went somewhere, no one told me. So obviously, America has never gone anywhere. It would be nice if these discombobulated folk packed their suitcases and moved to a Third World country, taking their buffoonery and antagonism with them.

The big problem here is that thousands of White people--educated and uneducated-- cannot stand an African American man being president of the United States. The America they grew up in has changed and will continue to change. The merry-go-round, like a fast moving train, will not stop for them to hop on board if they are standing in the wrong place. These sick seniors are too blinded their memories of the past. They do not to realize the world is passing them by.

Clint Eastwood's disrepectful 'comedy' routine performed at the Republican convention

  ______________________________

Republican National Convention--Clint Eastwood's  Saturday Night Live skit was not comedy, even though it was supposed to be. He hurled rehearsed insults at President Obama, hoping to get the audience roaring with laughter.

Being ill-mannered, cynical, rude and crude towards this first African American president has become Republicans stock and trade. I have never witnessed anything like it. Republicans, when caught, as does the media, resort to the excuse, “Democrats do it to Republicans.”

On the Internet blatant contempt of President Obama reads like a poorly written how-to-book of talking points on how to successfully embarrass the President. An example is the billboard on display (above) in Boston, Massachusetts. It works because Obama critics allow this kind of gobbledygook to enter their heads and steal what sense of right and wrong, they have left.

What Eastwood did on stage at the convention Friday night was surprising. Everyone watching him thought he was going to highlight the virtues of presidential candidate Mitt Romney and  his VP of choice, Paul Ryan. Instead, Eastwood leaped into a "bad Obama presidency" tirade.

I got the point about the empty chair used as a prop, but I, like everyone watching him, did not know where Eastwood was heading with his one-man comedy routine. It did not take long to realize that he was implying that the White House is occupied by an empty suit, a 2008 meme popularized by the media and Republicans.

Self-directing himself, Eastwood, 82, began a rambling his near schizophrenic routine, a smirk on his face. He observed the audience, and then the empty chair. His ridiculous routine lasted about 12 to 15 minutes. He was supposed to be on stage for five minutes.

Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you very much. Save a little for Mitt," he said to the applause. I know what you are thinking. You are thinking, what’s a movie tradesman doing out here? You know they are all left wingers out there, left of Lenin.

At least that is what people think. That is not really the case. There are a lot of conservative people, a lot of moderate people, Republicans, Democrats, in Hollywood. It is just that the conservative people by the nature of the word itself play it closer to the vest. They do not go around hot dogging it.

So -- but they are there, believe me, they are there. I just think, in fact, some of them around town, I saw John Voigt, a lot of people around. John’s here, an academy award winner. A terrific guy. These people are all like-minded, like all of us.

So I -- so I’ve got Mr. Obama sitting here. And he’s -- I was going to ask him a couple of questions. But -- you know about -- I remember three and a half years ago, when Mr. Obama won the election. And though I was not a big supporter, I was watching that night when he was having that thing and they were talking about hope and change and they were talking about, yes we can, and it was dark outdoors, and it was nice, and people were lighting candles.

They were saying, I just thought, this was great. Everybody is crying, Oprah was crying. I was even crying. And then finally -- and I haven’t cried that hard since I found out that there is 23 million unemployed people in this country. Now that is something to cry for because that is a disgrace, a national disgrace, and we haven’t done enough, obviously -- this administration hasn’t done enough to cure that. Whenever interest they have is not strong enough, and I think possibly now it may be time for somebody else to come along and solve the problem.

Eastwood stepped over the boundary of decency when he decided he could, even in jest, talk down to President Obama like he was a student who had disrupted the classroom, and he had to be verbally reprimanded in front of the whole class. Eastwood commenced chiding the imaginary President of the United States in front of America.

To further embarrass himself, Eastwood put words in President Obama's mouth. He has never been disdainful towards those who take personal swipes at him, his wife and his family. President Obama has never, in his three-and-a-half years in office cursed at anyone, yelled at anyone, let alone angrily tells an adversary to go and "fuck himself", or "shut up".  Granted this is what the media and Republicans want to see him do, but that is not the President Obama's personality.

Eastwood continued his disjointed comedy routine: So, Mr. President, how do you handle promises that you have made when you were running for election, and how do you handle them? I mean, what do you say to people? Do you just -- you know -- I know -- people were wondering -- you don’t -- handle that OK. Well, I know even people in your own party were very disappointed when you didn’t close Gitmo. And I thought, well closing Gitmo -- why close that, we spent so much money on it. But I thought maybe as an excuse -- what do you mean shut up?

OK, I thought maybe it was just because somebody had the stupid idea of trying terrorists in downtown New York City. I’ve got to. . . to hand it to you. I have to give credit where credit is due. You did finally overrule that finally. And that’s -- now we are moving onward. I know you were against the war in Iraq, and that’s okay. But you thought the war in Afghanistan was OK. You know, I mean -- you thought that was something worth doing. We didn’t check with the Russians to see how did it -- they did there for 10 years.

But we did it, and it is something to be thought about, and I think that, when we get to
maybe -- I think you’ve mentioned something about having a target date for bringing everybody home. You gave that target date, and I think Mr. Romney asked the only sensible question, you know, he says, “Why are you giving the date out now? Why don’t you just bring them home tomorrow morning?

And I thought -- I thought, yeah -- I am not going to shut up, it is my turn. So anyway, we’re going to have -- we’re going to have to have a little chat about that. And then, I just wondered, all these promises -- I wondered about when the -- what do you want me to tell Romney? I can’t tell him to do that. I can’t tell him to do that to himself.

You’re crazy, you’re absolutely crazy. You’re getting as bad as Biden. Of course, we all now Biden is the intellect of the Democratic party. But I just think that there is so much to be done, and I think that Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are two guys that can come along. See, I never thought it was a good idea for attorneys to the president, anyway.

I think attorneys are so busy -- you know they’re always taught to argue everything, and always weight everything -- weigh both sides. They are always devil’s advocating this and bifurcating this and bifurcating that. You know all that stuff. But I think it is maybe time -- what do you think -- for maybe a businessman. How about that? A stellar businessman. Quote, unquote, 'a stellar businessman.

And I think it’s that time. And I think if you just step aside and Mr. Romney can kind of take over. You can maybe still use a plane. Though maybe a smaller one. Not that big gas guzzler you are going around to colleges and talking about student loans and stuff like that. You are an -- an ecological man. Why would you want to drive that around? OK, well anyway. All right, I’m sorry. I can’t do that to myself either. I would just like to say something, ladies and gentlemen. Something that I think is very important. It is that you, we -- we own this country. We -- we own it. It is not you owning it, and not politicians owning it. Politicians are employees of ours.

And -- so -- they are just going to come around and beg for votes every few years. It is the same old deal. But I just think it is important that you realize, that you’re the best in the world. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican or whether you’re libertarian or whatever, you are the best. And we should not ever forget that. And when somebody does not do the job, we got to let them go.

Okay, just remember that. And I’m speaking out for everybody out there. It doesn’t hurt, we don’t have to be . . . . I do not say that word anymore. Well, maybe one last time. We don’t have to be -- what I’m saying, we do not have to be metal masochists and vote for somebody that we don’t really even want in office just because they seem to be nice guys or maybe not so nice guys, if you look at some of the recent ads going out there, I don’t know. But OK. You want to make my day? All right. I started, you finish it. Go ahead. Audience: Make my day Eastwood: Thank you. Thank you very much.

I love Clint Eastwood movies. I have a collection of them. At the Republican Convention he was a buck wild rabbit--bizarre and pathetic. Because he is a highly acclaimed actor, director and Hollywood icon, Eastwood told himself that he was entitled to belittle an “invisible” President Obama in front of the world. Hey! He's Clint "Make My Day" Eastwood. Who is not going to laugh with him? The delegates and politicians at the convention laughed and giggled at his every word. Clint was on a roll!

Most times I have a great sense of humor, but my humor did not laugh or smile at Eastwood’s comedy routine.I did not appreciate his scornful histrionics.

Romney’s top adviser did not ask Eastwood in advance what he was going to say or do, nor was Eastwood given a list of talking point to incorporate into his speech. Putting a light spin on the theatrical disaster, a top Romney adviser said they had no problem with the routine.  He said Romney was backstage laughing. During an interview on Friday, Ann Romney said Eastwood was “unique.” Unique like in bullshit has no smell. Josh Billings, 19th century humorists, once said: "Most everyone seems willing to be a fool himself, but he can't bear to have everyone else be one."

Republican Bud Johnson, a Northeast Austin resident in Austin, Texas "lynched" a folding chair, with a good old red, white and blue flag attached to it, symbolizing a lynching of President Obama.

Johnson hanged the chair on a front yard tree after Eastwood's soapbox production. When the hanging chair gained media attention, along with excessive traffic to the mixed neighborhood, Johnson was seen on TV cutting down the chair. It seems strangers were coming to the neighborhood to take pictures of the lynched chair.

Asked by a local station KEYE-TV news reporter why he displayed lynched folding chair in his front yard, Johnson, who walks with a cane, said it was "the only place I had to put the damn thing." An African American vet who owns a home in the neighborhood, said he did a double take after observing the chair hanging from the tree. He was not a happy with what he saw in his neighbor.

'My sons are serving the country when they campaign for me.'

Mitt Romney
A few years ago, when Mitt Romney was running for president, he was asked about his sons enlisting in the Army, going to Iraq. I thought he would give an intelligent answer, given that thousands of young men and women were deployed in Iraq. Thousands of them volunteered because they wanted to serve their country after 9/11.

Romney said, flashing that silly grin, "My sons are serving the country when they campaign for me."

I was almost speechless at his arrogance. His five sons--healthy and sun kissed were standing next to him, that same silly grin plastered on their lips. The media showed pictures of his sons living the good life, enjoying their favorite foods and recreational activities, relishing freedom from a war in the Middle East.

Today, after President Obama announced he is withdrawing soldiers from Iraq at the end of the year, Romney had the gall to talk about spilled blood and sacrifices made by the men and women fighting in a foreign country. He said in a press release:

“President Obama’s astonishing failure to secure an orderly transition in Iraq has unnecessarily put at risk the victories that were won through the blood and sacrifice of thousands of American men and women.

"The unavoidable question is whether this decision is the result of a naked political calculation or simply sheer ineptitude in negotiations with the Iraqi government. The American people deserve to hear the recommendations that were made by our military commanders in Iraq.”

Religious hogwash, Republicans and when God comes calling on candidates

Republicans are hoping to make President Obama a one-term president. The two top contenders this week hoping to unseat him are Herman Cain and Mitt Romney. In contention are six other candidates striving to knock each other out of the ring.

Herman Cain
Mitt Romney

With this crop of Republican candidates, it is not surprising to hear that God contacted them, telling them to run for president. When Republican George Bush campaigned for his father, George W. H. Bush, the younger Bush zeroed in on the weaknesses of evangelical Christians. He realized that if he confessed to being born again, and his devoted love for God, he had a good chance of gaining their votes and support. Christianity was the key to his presidential victory whenever he decided to run for president.

By the time Bush was ready to advance from governor of Texas to president of the U. S., he and Karl Rove, his campaign manager, had the born-again-Christian rhetoric solidly packed in a suitcase and ready to travel.

Did God’s personal persuasion influence him? Yes, according to Bush, “I’ve heard the call. I believe God wants me to run for president.”

His religious language of salvation and redemption worked like a lucky charm on God fearing Christians. They opened their arms and wallets, allowing Bush to bask in the glory of their “righteous godliness.”

However, God did not tell Republican Mitt Romney to run for president. The Mormon candidate said he already knows God’s purpose for America. Taking a swipe at President Obama, Romney said God did not create this country to be a nation of followers. America is destined to be one of several equally balanced global powers.

Silly me. Here I am thinking America is a global power, unequal to any other country.

Every time I hear Romney talk I cannot help but think about the fast talking con artist Robert Preston in The Music Man.

With this crop of God chosen Christians vying for America’s top job, God’s ears must be on fire, they invoke his name so often. Thus far, Jon Huntsman, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich have not lingered on their religion, nor have they confessed to getting a notification from God. When novice Republican Herman Cain ran for president in 2000, and for the Georgia senate seat vacated by Democrat Zell Miller in 2004, he did not say God contacted him.

At a town hall meeting in 1994 Cain debated President Bill Clinton on the economic impact of government run health care. Cain informed the President that his facts were wrong, and he would be happy to debate him again when he (Clinton) checked his facts. Cain arrogantly assumed that he was important enough to warrant a second town hall debate with President Clinton.

In the meanwhile, as Cain pondered a second run for president in 2011, God popped up and told him to go for it. God even spoke to him through his granddaughter. In an October interview with Christian Broadcast News, he compared himself to Moses. Cain said, “God’s been in this from the beginning.” Like Moses, Cain thought God made a mistake, encouraging him to run for president.

Moses did not feel qualified for the task God was about to give him. He did not feel qualified to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt to freedom. McCain said to God, “You’ve got the wrong person. You can’t be talking about me.” He finally gave in to God’s order.

In 2000 McCain was one of the candidates running against George Bush. He explained the reason he lost “was more about making a point than winning. George W. Bush was the chosen one. He had the campaign DNA that followers looked for. I believe that I had a better message, and I believe that I was the better messenger. I did not start soon enough".

I think this is the reason I cringe and yell at my TV when pundits and John McCain say he is a political neophyte. A brief presidential run in 2000, a senate race in 2004, and a town hall debate with the president of the United States. A newcomer on the scene? I don’t think so!

In May the spouse of Republican Rick Santorum, Karen Santorum talked with David Brody on CBN. She told him that Santorum made up his mind to run for president because "it really boils down to God's will. What is it that God wants"?

The Santorums’ prayed and prayed and God finally revealed the answer they were waiting for. “We believe with all our hearts that this is what God wants".

Is God a staunch Republican? I ask that for a reason. Not only has God conversed with Republican candidates, but he also visited Tim Pawlenty’s campaign manager, Nick Ayers. He said working for Pawlenty was a calling. He had been pondering the God-sanctioned possibility for six months or so.

According to a Talking Points Memo (TPM) article, Ayers said, “. . . I have deeply thought about my purpose in life, and how to best utilize the talents God has given me. I wanted my decision to be wholly about how best to serve Him". Ayers, a Republican, said he can best serve God by acting as campaign manager for Pawlenty, who has since dropped out of the presidential race due to poor support and financial problems.

Here is my understanding about God: If he truly has his hands on an individual he has selected to perform a task, he will not leave that person stranded without a plan to achieve the assignment. Too many times politicians and preachers say God called them. I am going to step out of my naive mode, and say the voice they heard was not God. It was their own egos trying to mimic God.

Republican candidate Michele Bachmann caused many a female's mouths to fly open when she said she was obedient to her husband! Being a good Christian woman, she willingly follows the Bible’s teaching. It was her husband, Marcus, who decided that she should get an advanced degree in tax law, run for the senate, and then for president.

When she was contemplating a presidential run, she revealed it was a joint decision. “My husband and I took three days, and we fasted and we prayed. And we prayed, ‘Lord, is this what you want? Are you sure? Is this your will?", Bachmann said, speaking at the Minnesota’s World Christian Center.

Bachmann had told World Net Daily that she would run for president if God told her to do it. “I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. If I am called to serve in that realm I would serve, but if I am not called, I wouldn’t do it".

So with her husband and God giving her a thumbs up, Bachmann is now fully engaged in the race. She started out like a grey hound, but she has slowed down to a turtle’s pace. Like Pawlenty, her donation (funds) well is drying up.

Gov. Slick Rick Perry
I saved the longest God touched candidate for last. I like to call him Gov. Slick Rick Perry of Texas. I am a Texan and I feel I know from whence I speak, like the time Slick Rick asked Texans to pray for rain after a couple of bone dry summers. Below is a rain proclamation signed by the governor:

WHEREAS, the state of Texas is in the midst of an exceptional drought, with some parts of the state receiving no significant rainfall for almost three months, matching rainfall deficit records dating back to the 1930s … NOW, THEREFORE, I, RICK PERRY, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas. I urge Texans of all faiths and traditions to offer prayers on that day for the healing of our land, the rebuilding of our communities and the restoration of our normal way of life.

Texas is still bone dry and thirsty for rain.  Texas was recently devastated by brush fires that destroyed homes, businesses and other properties.

And then Slick Rick announced that he is a prophet! This bag of used kitty litter was more than my nose was willing to smell. I had no idea our good governor was psychic! The media and pundits have praised Slick Rick like he is the time bomb waiting to blow up President Obama’s chances at a second term. We’ll see how potent he is if he wins the Republican nomination.

Actually, Slick Rick was not too sure about running for president until God whispered in his ear. He told an Iowa newspaper: “I’m not ready to tell you that I’m ready to announce that I’m in, but I’m getting more and more comfortable every day that this is what I’ve been called to do. This is what America needs".

After he made his grand announcement to run, supporters, pundits of all stripes and the media bet that Slick Rick would knock nothing but home runs when debating his opponents during the Republican primary. The anticipated home runs did not happen. Romney did not give him time to catch his breath. Slick Rick had to feel like a small rabbit caught in a trap.

You see, Gov. Slick Rick Perry is not a think-on-your-feet debater. He did not debate when he campaigned for re-election in Texas. Everybody in his entourage of advisers were comfortable with him not debating. He made excuses for himself, and made demands of his opponent. Too bad his camp did not learn that a Texas stage is much, much smaller than a national stage. Slick Rick proved that he is not ready for prime time.

Anita Perry feels her husband is being persecuted because of his faith. She talked about a “burning bush.”  I do believe she was stepping into Moses’ territory! He was the only one that God allowed to see the burning bush. In the movie, The Ten Commandments, Moses walked down from the mountain an aged man with white hair. Slick Rick's hair has not grayed.

Anita Perry said October 13, to supporters at North Greenville University, “We’ve been brutalized, eaten up and chewed up in the press . . . After Rick had won being elected for the governorship for the third time in Texas, there was a nagging, a pulling at my heart for him to run for president. You know what we have no leadership in Washington. We have nobody to guide our country.

“God was already speaking to him, but he didn’t want to hear it. He felt like he needed to see the burning bush. I said, ‘Look, let me tell you something. You may not see that burning bush but there are people who see that burning bush for you.’ So he truly felt like he was called to do this. We still feel called to do this. We are being brutalized by our opponents in our own party. So much of that is, I think they look at him because of his faith".

Slick Rick is not being attacked, Anita. The attack is his poor debate performances. He brags about a plan to put Americans back to work, and then reveals a scheme to fatten the pockets of the rich. Maybe Slick Rick Perry should have another talk with God, and ask for a plan of victory in 2012.

***UPDATE: As of Wednesday (Oct. 19) the media and pundits have concluded that Herman Cain is still ahead in the polls, with Mitt Romney and Rick Perry following behind him. However, the same media and pundits have begun to treat Cain like a joke, saying he does not have a chance to win the Republican nomination for president. One pundit, Ed Rollins, said Republicans would be fools to nominate Cain.
